This image (Tessa sitting) was created by Lucas Blalock in 2016. From what I can see it is obvious that Lucas used photoshop, photopea or a different photo editing software to create this photo, since most of the face has been removed, leaving only squiggly lines and the nose, and the entire body has been removed, except for the arms. The lighting on the arms and face is different to the lighting on the coat, chair and background. One thing that I find strange about this image is the fact that the shadows are unedited, which means the face doesn't cast a shadow onto the wall behind it, unlike every other object in the image. The way Lucas Blalock created this image was by taking two separate photographs, one of a coat on a chair, and another of a person holding their own hand. He would then take the photo of the person and edit it on photoshop, removing parts of the face and the rest of the body, except the arms. After that, he would layer the edited image of the person on top of the photo of the coat on a chair. If I could ask the Lucas Blalock 3 questions about this image, I would ask him "Who inspired you when making this photo?" so I can learn more about the photographs meaning or purpose, "What did you want the viewer to think or feel when they see this image?" to understand more about the reason of why the image was made, and "Would you change anything about this image to make it easier to understand its meaning?" to see what Lucas sees as being unsuccessful in his work. This picture relates to the theme of disguise because it hides the identity of the subject of the photo, and creates a new identity for them, just as a disguise does.
I created my images by taking pictures of inanimate objects and some people from the classroom, then I put the images of the people onto the inanimate objects by erasing parts of their body and overlapping the body with the object. I also created black and white copies of my photos and I like the black and white of the spray bottle image, but I prefer the normal colour versions of the other photos.
